Taiwan’s arms industry unveiled new weapon systems at the Taipei Aerospace & Defense Technology Exhibition, including an anti-radiation UAV that bears a striking resemblance to IAI’s Harpy

Taiwan displayed the latest weaponry from its arms industry over the weekend, as part of the 2019 edition of the biennial Taipei Aerospace & Defense Technology Exhibition (TADTE).
Dozens of locally-made systems made their debut at the three-day event, including the Jian Hsiang (Flying Sword) anti-radiation drone, which bears a striking resemblance to IAI’s Harpy. Military analyst Guy Plopsky published images of the UAV from the exhibition.
Another system unveiled at the expo was the latest version of the Teng Yun medium-altitude, long-endurance surveillance drone.
A promotional video shows that Taiwan intends to use the Jian Hsiang drone against Chinese aircraft carriers in case of a possible invasion.
IAI has previously denied any involvement in the development of the Taiwanese drone.
